I’m Amandine, the founder and designer behind A & V Jewelry.
Born and raised in France, I now call Washington, D.C. home. My French heritage shapes every part of my creative process, from a love of understated elegance to an appreciation for refined craftsmanship and natural beauty. Before founding A & V Jewelry, I spent years as a professor of contemporary French society, sharing the culture, history, and nuanced beauty of the French language with my students. That same attention to subtlety and expression now informs my approach to jewelry, where every detail, like every word, is chosen with care and intention.
But my journey with jewelry began much earlier. As a student in France, I started making and selling jewelry pieces, drawn to the quiet joy of creating with my hands. That passion stayed with me, gently resurfacing when my daughter, Victoire, began making jewelry for her little friends. In her, I saw a reflection of my younger self, a reminder that what we love often finds its way back to us.
Each piece of A & V Jewelry is handmade using carefully selected precious and semi-precious gemstones, finished with 14k solid yellow gold. I’m drawn to soft hues, natural textures, and a light that feels almost ethereal. Aquamarine and freshwater pearls have long been my favorite gemstones for their softness, subtle glow, and the quiet sense of calm they bring.
The name “A & V” stands for Amandine and Victoire. It’s a tribute not only to my daughter, but to the connection between generations, to creativity passed down with love, and to the beauty of heirloom-quality jewelry meant to be treasured. A & V Jewelry is an ode to the beauty of womanhood and nature. My hope is that each piece becomes part of your story, worn with ease, cherished over time, and tied to the moments that matter most.
